Ms. Raveena Tandon
Ms. Tandon has portrayed impactful and memorable characters in her career spanning over three decades. She made her debut with the film Patthar Ke Phool for which she received the Filmfare Award. She won the coveted National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in Kalpana Lajmi’s Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence. The talented actress won Screen Awards, IIFA, Bengal Film Journalists’ Association Awards as well as the Filmfare Award for her performance in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Aks.
Films like Daman, Shool which won a national award and Satta which was also nominated for a national award were part of her repertoire and she received People’s Choice Award for her powerful performance. She has been honored with the Awadh Samman for her contribution to cinema. She won the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award and Hindustan Times OTT Awards also GNT-IWMBuzz Digital Awards and many more for her performance in Aranyak on Netflix. Her Recent release KGF 2 was the second biggest film in Indian history.
Her award-winning powerhouse performance for Shobhna’s 7 Nights film, won Outstanding Performance Female’ at the Houston International Film Festival and Chicago South Asian Film Festival also Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF).
It comes as no surprise that Ms. Tandon walked away with the accolade for ‘Beauty & Style’ awards like HT Style Awards, Femina Beauty Awards, GR8! Women Awards and Geospa Asiaspa India Awards, Lokmat most stylish awards.
She has been tirelessly working for the girl child, with various organisations, like UNICEF, Cry, White Ribbon Alliance for safe motherhood, Spina Bifida Association, Smile foundation in 2001. She single-handedly housed 30 girls in her own house and built an orphanage in Vasai. Against all norms and tabboos she became a pioneer when she adopted 2 girls as a single mom at the age of 21. Has also received an award from the women and child ministry of India for her work for women empowerment.
She was the youngest chairperson for CFSI. Has been part of the advisory panel of Cintaa. Prime Minister Modi has praised the actress for her organ donation work. Her Rudra Foundation is doing a lot of work for children, women & animal welfare. During Covid times when Oxygen was a scarcity her foundation tied up with DCP south to ensure 300 oxygen cylinders reached the needy people. Cylinders were also sent to Radha Soami Satsang Beas, the Army hospital in Delhi and for lawyers and Legal journalists in Delhi NCR via the Honorable Supreme Court Bar Association.
